The Andrews house is the family residence of Mary and Archie Andrews. When Fred Andrews was struck and killed on the side of the road, Mary returned to Riverdale to look after Archie. After Archie graduated and joined the Army, Mary kept the house but moved away, taking Vegas with her. Archie returns to Riverdale seven years later to discover that the Ghoulies have been using his childhood home as a drug den. With help from Betty, Kevin, Fangs, Sweet Pea, and Sheriff Keller, Archie manages to apprehend the Ghoulies and regain possession of the house. However, not long after doing so, the house is blown up by Hiram and the Ghoulies, resulting in Archie and Betty developing powers. Despite the condition, Archie decides to buy the house from his mom and fully renovates it.

Trivia[]

  • The Andrews home set follows the footprint of the actual home fairly faithfully from what is shown; however, Archie's bedroom is depicted with a pedimented gable roof dormer, while the exterior shots show a shed (flat) roof dormer.
  • The window from Archie's bedroom that faces Betty's changes several times throughout the show. In Season 1, the window is a simple wooden sash window. Later, it is a sash window with stained glass surround. In Season 7, it becomes a stationary window with stained glass edge.
  • In Season 1, the home has a fireplace along the wall where the couch normally is in the living room. After the Andrews house set was built, the fireplace is no longer extant, as are several other features (French doors to the dining room are now pocket doors that are normally recessed into the wall), and several stained glass elements are added.
  • The black rotary phone in the kitchen has a consistently broken rotary dial, as the finger slots don't line up with the numbers. Alternatively, in "Chapter Forty-One: Manhunter", when Fred is on the phone with Veronica and hangs up to dial Attorney McCoy, the phone noises used are for a touch tone device, not a rotary one.
  • Fred and Mary's bedroom is never shown.
  • When the home is subject to the bomb planted by Hiram and the house is subsequently renovated by Archie, the floorplan remains largely the same with only superficial renovations such as new wall sconces, light fixtures, wainscoting, etc.
  • Betty and Archie are described as next door neighbors, yet the houses on either side are not the Cooper's Colonial Revival home. And from shots of the garage in rear of the Andrews home, the Cooper's home is not seen, despite the fact that both homes are said to be located on Elm Street. They are also shown as being within close proximity to each other from shots of Archie and Betty's bedroom windows, but given the previous points, makes this impossible.
