Trivia[]
- KJ's natural hair color is dark brown and must have his hair dyed and bleached every two weeks to match Archie's signature bright red hair[3].
- KJ broke his hand while filming the season one finale, which involved him punching through the ice to rescue Cheryl Blossom, which was, in actuality, a foam mat sitting on ice.[4]
- KJ feels much pressure in playing Archie. Although he is “so grateful for the show and its success, at the same time, there’s a lot of baggage that comes with that success.” [5]
- The many restrictions to achieve the iconic look of the comic character make KJ feel incapable to express himself naturally. Moreover, Apa expressed discomfort towards a part of the fandom that doesn't separate the actor from the character, and judges every little detail of his private life.[5]
- KJ looks up to his more experienced cast mates, such as Cole Sprouse, to deal with these issues.[5]
- KJ learned a lot about acting and life in general from the late Luke Perry, who portrayed Archie's father Fred before his untimely death and described having him on set as a blessing.[5]
- KJ and Hart Denton (Chic), released their first song together, Atmosphere on March 15, 2021.
