It is heartening to see so many of you here, even in weather like this. But a lack of heart and school spirit has never been the Riverdale way. Tonight's pep rally isn't like any other we've had in the past. And we shouldn't pretend that it is. Which is why I would like to dedicate this evening to the memory of one of our brightest. Jason Blossom. We're with him tonight.
Sierra McCoy about the pep rally[src]

The Pep Rally is an annual after school event that takes place in the fall to kick off the school year, and inspire school spirit.

Summary[]

Season 1[]

The Pep Rally took place in "Chapter Two: A Touch of Evil" and began with a speech by Riverdale Mayor, Sierra McCoy, who joined Principle Weatherbee and Coach Clayton on stage to personally thank everyone who had attended. She was gladdened by the turn out as a lack of heart and school spirit had never been the way of Riverdale High School, even in spite of the rainy weather and mysterious death of fellow student Jason Blossom. She reminded the crowd that the pep-rally that year was like no other they've had before, which was why she dedicated the evening to the memory of Jason Blossom. She then welcomed the River Vixens and Josie and the Pussycats to the stage to perform. The band performed their song "Candy Girl (Sugar Sugar)" as the cheerleaders danced on the field just below them.

After the performance the school's varsity football team, the Riverdale Bulldogs, made their entrance, bursting through a banner emblazoned with the team logo. Cheryl was triggered by memories of Jason as she saw red-headed Archie in his uniform, and raced off the field in tears.[1]
