Welcome all, to the first annual Taste of Riverdale. As a lead-up to our 75th anniversary jubilee, this event proves that Riverdale truly is a town that, when tragedy knocks us down, we get right back up!

The Taste of Riverdale is a lead up event to the town's 75th anniversary jubilee. There, attendees could sample the best foods Riverdale had to offer.

Summary[]

The event was hosted by Mayor Sierra McCoy, who welcomed everyone to the first annual Taste of Riverdale. She went on the say that the event taking place, proved that Riverdale was a town that when tragedy strikes, they pick themselves back up. After her speech, Sierra approached Clifford and Penelope Blossom, just to check in on how they were dealing with their son Jason's death, but she found herself on the end of a snarky reply from Penelope instead.

Fred Andrews attended the event and ran into his son's music teacher, Geraldine Grundy. They spoke of Archie's musical talent. Miss Grundy reassured Fred of his son’s talents and how he was a “special kid”.

Despite his father being perfectly clear on Archie not attending the Taste of Riverdale, he sneaked in anyways, and watched from the second floor with Jughead Jones, as Josie and the Pussycats, the entertainment for the evening, performed "All For Me", a song he had helped work on. In the distance, he saw Fred engaged in conversation with Miss Grundy, with whom he had been having an affair.

Alice Cooper had a physical encounter with Penelope Blossom at the event, where she ended up being slapped. Penelope was horrified that Alice had printed Jason's autopsy results in her newspaper The Register. Mere minutes after the incident with Penelope, Alice went and picked a fight with another rival, Hermione Lodge, who was working the event providing food from Pop's Chock'lit Shoppe, whom she taunted that her daughter Veronica was being slut-shamed at school.

Jughead attended the event in search of Dilton Doiley, and confronted him about the shooting on July 4th and told him to meet him at The Blue and Gold offices the next day.[1]
