Tina Patel is a recurring character on Riverdale. She is portrayed by Olivia Ryan Stern.

Tina is a student at Riverdale High School, a member of River Vixens and a close friend of Cheryl Blossom.

Character descriptionEdit

Tina is both incredibly smart but also a minion of one of the popular cheerleaders at the school.[1]

BiographyEdit

Season 1Edit

Tina sat along side Cheryl Blossom and Ginger Lopez as cheerleading try-outs commenced. She was relatively unimpressive with Veronica Lodge's and Betty Cooper's routine. She was even less impressed with their forced faux-lesbian kiss. [2]

Season 1 Episode 2 A Touch of Evil Tina and Ginger question Cheryl

Ginger and Tina interrogating Cheryl

Tina and Ginger interrogated Cheryl briefly before class. The two girls were curious as to why Cheryl's story didn't match up to the story given by the local authorities. Cheryl stated that Jason drowned in Sweetwater River, but he died from a gun shot to the head. They insist that they aren't suggesting Cheryl had any involvement in Jason's death, however, it's still suspicious nonetheless. She and Ginger watched from across the room in horror as Cheryl aggressively dissects the frog in front of her. Later that night, Tina, along with the rest of the River Vixens, performed their cheerleading routine as Josie and the Pussycats sang their song, Sugar, Sugar on stage just before the football game. [3]

Tina and Ginger stand outside Mr. Weatherbee's office as Cheryl is taken in for questioning about the death of Jason Blossom. The next day, the two girls mocked Veronica Lodge for the supposed "Stick Maple" she was given by Chuck Clayton the previous night. [4]

Tina, Ginger and Cheryl enjoyed an evening out at Pop's Chock'lit Shoppe. Cheryl was unaware at the time of allowing Veronica on the team, that her mother worked at the diner, otherwise, she wouldn't have given Veronica a spot on the squad. It sends a false message of acceptance. Ginger explained that the River Vixens have warmed up to Veronica since her epic take down of Chuck and his posse. Upon leaving the diner, they noticed Veronica's mother and FP Jones, the leader of the Southside Serpents in an argument. [5]

It was revealed through a flashback sequence that Tina, Ginger and Cheryl were present for Jason and Polly's break up, which took place at Pop's Chock'lit Shoppe. [6]

Season 1 Episode 10 The Lost Weekend Tina and Ginger vs Cheryl

Ginger and Tina fired as River Vixens and Cheryl's friends

Following the River Vixens' reviewing of the new choreography for Homecoming, a brief altercation ensued between Veronica and Cheryl, which led to a dance-off between the two, and the winner would lead the squad during Homecoming. After both Veronica and Cheryl's routine, it was up to the Vixens to decide who would take front and center during the event. While most of the squad sided with Veronica, Tina and Ginger opted out by not to voting at all. Their betrayal resulted in Cheryl firing them both as River Vixens and her "social hand maidens". The next night, like most of the students of Riverdale High School, Tina crashed Jughead's 16th Birthday Party. [7]

Physical AppearanceEdit

Tina is a pretty young lady with dark skin, long-straight hair, and brown eyes. Like her friends Cheryl and Ginger, Tina often dresses in high-end and fashionable clothing.

PersonalityEdit

Tina is best be described as the classic high school mean girl. She's pretty, very superficial, and loves to gossip. She has surrounded herself with others like her, such as Ginger and Cheryl. All three girls are members of the River Vixens, and while they do often hang around each other, Tina has recently proven that she is not nearly as hostile as Cheryl, if anything she was rather submissive to Cheryl's bad girl ways.
